again. and again.

yesterday was a funny day again. forgot the fuel key of the bike in the office drawers and came in ahead atleast a km from the company’s bus stop. without knowing whether i’ll get the duplicate keys somewhere near where the bike stops without the keys.

had the help of Traffic cops near West end, and these men were cheerful and funny @ the same time too. i had a laugh with them till i was there.

till the time i was with them, they tried each and every key they had, to unlock the fuel lock, but to our fortunes, that wasn’t happening at all.

the jolly man in them, said that the lock was so faithful to that key and it didn’t allow unblocking with any other keys :) You would have a difficult time this…. they advised to get to a key maker just close to the place from where i had left. hah.

just a note that - i found these guys pretty helpful, than the other times, other than when one break the rules and get caught. these are humans after all and have their duties to follow to earn their bread and butter. how much, you say, well that depends on everybody’s thoughts and appetite!

the key makers job was just of a few minutes and i was back on the 2 wheeler.

the sadesati (in which Saturn comes to a moon sign for 7.5 years – now entered Scorpio on14th Nov’11) phase  has just begun and seems to test the patience. the cool you be, the cool you will stay in such scenarios. after all, if that thing was to happen, why curse the luck. just chill man, that’s what the heart said.

anyways, the forgetful mind has done its things on own and today i found the keys – on their place – where i had left yesterday.

2011 in review

The WordPress.com stats helper monkeys prepared a 2011 annual report for this blog.

Here’s an excerpt:

The concert hall at the Syndey Opera House holds 2,700 people. This blog was viewed about 9,800 times in 2011. If it were a concert at Sydney Opera House, it would take about 4 sold-out performances for that many people to see it.

What defines me…. … .. .?

the way we see things may be different from they actually are, this brings us to the point where we may assume or acknowledge that the things seem in that form to us @ the given instance of the time and not they actually are. they just seem to be rather than they actually are.

man is just a thought of his own creation. he changes his own life with his own thoughts. just as somebody says or wishes you eagerly to change your thoughts and have a different perspective of life than the regular one. things change  or rather the approach towards life changes. so what we actually are? a slave of our own creations? as the surroundings or the people we are in ~ most of the times remain constant!

it’s how i found my faith defines me. if it’s there, i am to happy to be the one who i am. if it isn’t there, i can’t figure out the way i live, rather feeling like, time has passed out too fast and years have gone by without noticing. it’s this getting in and out of rhythm which i am so used to!

and as the years go one, the waves of these things bring me up and down with them. this has led me to the thought of being someone who is already being taken care of, by the one who i have utmost faith in. i wish and hope that this faith continues to be with me till my last breath and even after that. because it’s the thing that defines me, deep inside. its there somewhere,  where i find myself, my peace and all my desires laid to rest. it’s where all the things that this world’s desires vanish and its the point of time from where i cease to come back to reality. somebody may call it day dreaming but then it is just so different from dreaming  as feeling of being  and that too awake in it are its prime necessities.

this is where, i found that being somebody has no importance, but being with that belief has all that to be lived for.

it’s where thoughts emerge around as a group of people but you need to stay calm and unknowing of the rush as the air which stays with us all the time, but has no feeling of being. it’s about being so inhuman to feelings, but in the end, it makes you so bound to take care of all the beings around you. as it is the only thing present in all living beings.

it can’t be moulded into a form because as us, it can’t be visualised in a form. it also, rather takes many forms, all around us!  the only one to give the knowledge of it to all being the Master!

Don 2: The King is Back – Movie review

Don 2 Movie Poster
Don 2 Movie Poster

This movie starts with the European drug cartel trying to kill Don, who is their prime enemy in Asia and trying to take over Europe single-handedly. The story shifts to Malaysia, where their agents have planned to kill Don while he comes up to take a package. Finally, Don gets to know of the idea and surrenders in front of Roma (Priyanka Chopra) and Malik (Om Puri) to get into the safe haven – jails – at the moment.

Don has fights with Vardhaan (Boman Irani) inside the jails, where a small flashback shows how he landed up there. While he argues with Vardhaan to act together and get out of the jail. They go according to the plans and then set out to Europe where Don has his agent Ayesha (Lara Dutta) and plan to get a tape which only Vardhaan and Singhania can get access to. As Singhania is now dead, only Vardhaan can solve the missing link.

The video in the locker shows a German Bank, where Singhania and A K Diwan (Aly Khan) have a close agreement to save the President’s chair – which he holds for more than a decade – while killing the winning candidate and he is shown to be killed by Singhania.

Don and Diwan now have an agreement for which he has to give the plan of the Bank in return of the tape. He hires another gang (of Jabbar) to kill Don, not fully trusting him. Don tries to loot the bank for the currency printing moulds and now has two insiders planning against him, Jabbar and Vardhaan. What and how he plans, is the climax of the movie.

The movie, takes time gripping the audience and seems like a puzzle most of the time, where the audience has to concentrate more.

Farhan Akhtar and the two writes, Amrish and Ameet have tried hard to keept it simple but the twists are so much and time-consuming that it tries to become a gnag war movie once a while,  a heist movie another time and finally an action thriller at the end.

There are no clues how Don survived these many years, while being constantly pursued. Another thing was Don’s gang, of whom, nobody is shown in this movie, not even Anita (Ishaa Koppikar - in Part 1). The character of Roma, is given less screen presence and Priyanka Chopra has less to act than fight. her love angle with Don is not explored too.

Shahrukh excels again as Don, but its the story that takes the burden off his shoulders and puts it on the other characters. Hritik appears in a sequence as Don, however there is no Katrina Kaif in the movie as romoured.

There’s just one song (Zara Dil ko thaam lo) in the film which saves much time.

Overall, Don 2 could have been a better movie if the concepts were streamlined, and not being better in parts – as an end product which has been released now.

Finally, SRK appears on a bike with number plate as Don 3. Would you wait for a sequel to this one…?

Mission Impossible : Ghost Protocol – Movie Review

Mission impossible Ghost Protocol Poster

MI 3 was long way back, then came in the alpha male movies – The Bourne Ultimatum (Matt Damon) and the new Bond flicks, with James Bond played by Daniel Craig. But Tom Cruise is back with a bang with MI 4!!

It can’t get better than this…. Tom Cruise reprises his role as Ethan Hunt an IMF agent, who is rescued from Russian prison for the crime he committed while people thought his wife was murdered. Another agent Jane (played by Paula Patton) has her lover – Trevor (Josh Holloway) – involved in an attempt to recover the codes used to activate the nuclear missiles of Russia. Trevor is killed by an assassin who tries to sell the codes to Cobalt in Dubai. She rescues Ethan in a bid to get these codes – from Cobalt – a nuclear scientist (Michael N.) also known by the world as Kurt Hendriks.

Ethan is asked to meet the secretary as the IMF has been disavowed and the secretary gives Ethan the mission to track Cobalt down – but these guys are suddenly attacked by a team of Russians, killing the secretary, leaving an analyst – Brandt (Jeremy Renner) left with him. Now the mission Ethan has – to track Cobalt down and is assisted by the team of three – Brandt, Benji and Jane – with no official help on hand.

The story has been well written and developed on screen.

You suddenly feel that you have globetrotted after you have seen this movie, as countries and people change after a few sequences. Germany, Russia, Dubai, India are the prominent places.

The stunts @ Burj Khalifa and in general – all – those from Tom Cruise and Jeremy Renner and the starting sequence of Trevor are awesome!!!! You just have your adrenaline pumping after you have seen this kind of stuff.

The natural calamities – sandstorm in Dubai and the blasts have been used with their greatest effect to gather that grip on the audience.

The scenes in India – have been showed to be in Mumbai – whereas it seems that the palace is somewhere in Rajasthan and the other sequences are with in Hyderabad (most of the scenes featuring Telugu Language) or Bangalore (the IT hub of the country).

Anil Kapoor is on the reels for just a few minutes as Brij Nath (an Indian businessman) having satellites useful for the launch of the Russian Missiles.

The film is so well done that the suspence between the two characters in IMF (Brandt & Ethan) is continued till the end – for a nail-biting finish.

Bard Bird must be applauded for this effort.

Jeremy Renner is the new Bourne and I must admit it that it would be fun watching him!

Rating : I must admit its 10/10!!!

What is Samadhi? Is it like being like wood – with no life? Is it like being completely being out of senses? Or just being sensible? Hansa (says Vishnu in the form of a Swan) says that being like a wood, can’t be called as a Samadhi. The wise is one who knows of the body being mortal, but believes in his own higher being and not on this body made of 5 elements. One can completely fill up the lungs and stay constant at a place for many time or act like doing so, but that won’t result in Samadhi. One has to be free of Desires if one wants to attain that place. Wishes, Desires, Needs and Wants are needed to be leveled to attain the highest state of being – Samadhi. One cannot completely say that the goat has achieved it – when it stays clam and still – when a snake appears in front.

One can have Eternal bliss for a moment, but due to the desires left out in the mind, body or soul, the feeling remains for a few moments – still Samadhi needs to be achieved. One can feel of having attained it, but has to overcome the effect of it being achieved, to again get on this position. One cannot call it awesome, as he would differ of being one with it, again that feeling getting him away from that path. One can as well see that he has achieved it in dreams, and has become famous – but it can’t be called as real in practical life ~ where dreams aren’t important.

One can say he had seen such a dream – of achieving a higher meditation state, but then he himself knows it has to be achieved in real life. Fate – brings its own doings in everybody’s life. One has to be different from the happenings to his own life and see that it is just happening as it was meant to be. We cannot call it every time that it happened due to the efforts of a person as many a times luck favors that person. Sometimes the tide can go otherwise. It’s like the flames have gone but the ground under it is still bearing that heat or like the camphor has burned completely but the fumes bear its fragrance. Or like the cradle is waving, having been pushed just once.

The free souls are like these examples, they have achieved their targets but yet continue to live their fate. It’s like being a shadow of a human being both are separate yet exist together. The free souls are those who have achieved Samadhi stage but yet continue their routine works. They know that they are free now but they don’t mind carrying out the happenings in their lives as they now know that they won’t be bound by their actions henceforth. They can sit silent at a place or meditate in caves or carry out their activities, they are still free.

They (the free souls) follow their karma, or wander here and their symbolizing their mindlessness – just to follow their fate. They move on litters (palanquins) or ride on Elephants like Kings or enjoy being filled with dust or waste products – just to follow their fate. This state being called the Sahaj Samadhi. He does his karma, but never claims it being his. His actions are never bound to show his ego. He might enjoy having pleasures, but he still bears of all things as are of being trivial. His family calls him his, His followers call him their Master, but he knows he belongs to somewhere else. He is like a wooden thing, but is so different from it, that he wouldn’t blow off the flames – if the wood had caught fire.

It is so ridiculous to call him enjoying life if compared to the King only being called a King when he sits on a throne, or if he runs in the woods – he won’t be the King. The King, wherever he may be, still remains the King. So the one who attains Samadhi, bears it – whatever happens as per his fate. One who attains it knows it’s importance leaves being one aside, to enjoy that state again and again. It was I as Krishna, gave Arjun this state and led him to fight the war – leaving the cycle of ego and karma aside. Says Hansa (the Swan like Incarnation of Lord Vishnu) to answer the questions to the sons of Brahma ~ who was busy creating life and had forgotten the basics. This is the narrative that Krishna told Uddhava – referring to it as the Hansagita.

Lost and found.

of all the infinite things ~ time it is, sees all in one form and pieces at another instant. it may be this theory that we say the universe would have been formed and started expanding. so much things have changed. ice age came in and gone away. Dino’s followed the same way. it’s the same scale of time but it sees huge changes every moment, every hour, every day.

The time which have already spent in our lives ~ seems so distant. Yet we are here now by passing that unknown test, and facing unknown challenges of the future. This why life is so exciting @ times, as we are unaware of what comes next.

This is when I recognize, I haven’t met friends from school, and meeting them seems that past few years appearing like decades. It’s an awesome experience if somebody recognizes you too soon, do to a known feature from childhood and awful or embarrassing if somebody doesn’t even remember you :( . Yet we exist. In the same plane of time, and on the same axis, but the lines hardly intersect each other. We live as if we are unknown to each other or turn each other into unknown people.

It’s by seeing one other we get accustomed to the new avatars fast. Am so doubtful, if you would know your friend some 10-15 years back from their profile pics @ the social networking websites. Seems a bad idea. This is where virtual world is trumped by real world. The hand shakes, the pokes and the punches won’t match with the real world ones, coz they are real :) .

Sometimes, it’s a bit good to lose yourself into old memories and get into the older times and find that child in you.Sometimes, memories make it tough. But anytime, its worth a try. That’s what time teaches you. You were like this guy a few years back and now…? Do you recognize yourselves? It’s as if nothing is here to stay permanent, it’s what it is – right here – right now. Or else, its gone for always.

Can’t say anything on future, but yes, it will make up our memories, fill our brainy hard disks :) with good and bad sectors. live the scripts, man. Coz when its gone, there won’t be a reboot for this entity.

Mixing up programming terminologies with philosophy makes it so funny.

Here, Shree Krishna tells Uddhava (& to us) that follow that advice which your Guru gives you, as it is in His form that I am there with you. He looks after you as your father and your mother, though he has not given birth to you. But, it is He, who has looked after you since last births and deaths and always there to free you out of this cycle. He classifies four fathers of every child, with Guru being the fifth and the only true one!

iTS called Life

the instances of life being so miserably fallible aren’t quite there everyday in our lives. last week or two we had such instances happening around us. and that makes it unbearable that the near ones are going through the difficult times at such a young age.

Difficult.

One can be theoretical to put everything into it, but those have to bear the things and suffer find no words. may be soul rest in peace – we can’t just say, but the soul would wander around if it has few unfulfilled desires or would have like to spend more time.

We can never say, that the time we have had – has been too good to fulfill our dreams.

I find it difficult to stand by the last two words – our dreams. I am not the creator of my dreams, we say that we dream and we wish that they come true. They may be the imprints of our last (& so lost) lives, but we never have too much time to analyse them. We still dream.

We dream of a good house, that one which has a good value in millions, have good furniture and appliances. Vaguely. but still we dream.

We dream of good cars, good bikes and good roads (Indians do! :) ). Funnily, it takes half a decade to build a bridge, another year or so for it’s being ready to use. So everything takes time.

And Patience.

We dream that our all wishes become true. But we never intend to say which ones, or rather put a break on them and just analyse which one has been the most desired one. Or else it’s all messed, as usual.

May be – we all were made that way. Just to work on the command’s of some programmer who injects dreams when we sleep and commands to work as per His will. It somehow looks as if all is programmed, then where is the “free will”?

Well, well, well. This movie could have been better. As Hollywood movies come and go by – year on year in Indian market, releasing sometimes, before or with the International release dates, pulling crowds.

So expectations are huge, about the concepts and overall material which would be showed in the theaters. As we have already have had the feast of eyes with Harry Potter and the Lord of the Rings – it was a tough task for the Ra.One team.

Lets shoot of at the story first.

Shekhar Subramaniyam is an employee at the company developing software games. We do not know what he actually does – work at – graphics or programming or networking – it’s never shown. His kid Pratik doesn’t like his good doing, down to earth persona. Shekhar is married to Kareena - who is doing a thesis on abusive words in the Indian languages. OMG. Aren’t there much choices left these days? So, one day, the kid asks his dad to program in such a way that the villian of the video game is always powerful than the good part of the video game. so the team who are advised that they will be sent back home or will work as waiters, suddenly develop a program and the owner releases it.

In comes the villian, Ra.One – symbolic of Raavan who has been loaded with the devil like qualities of 10 persons from History. The AI thing in the program realises its strength and comes into real world, when it looses to Pratik in first two rounds of the game and asks him to complete it or it will comeinto “real” world from the program.

Shekhar and Jackie Chan (the character is always referred to as rather than his real character name :( ) is killed and Ra.One comes into reality.

The good part of the program is then brought into real world by the kid, which again is portrayed by SRK as G.One (the Good One) !!!

Rest of the film then checks out how Pratik and G.One fight Ra.One for the good of this world.

The music is not so worthy and takes the pace off the film.

SRK must have thought of some good director for this kind of film as the film lacks that ~ something special kind of feeling.

Kareena is just there for a few scenes.  The kid acts good but the main character of this film as always revolves around SRK.

The film pays tribute to Robot (Chitti), Khalnayak and other notable films of the past.  Having seen Ironman and Tron : Legacy, it was kind of mixture for me.

News is that the 3D version hasn’t yet arrived.
